Missing Dell iDRAC Service Module for Linux, v5.4.0.0
This updated driver was released back on Oct 10, 2024 but when I create a SmartBootable ISO file this appears to be absent for R340 and R660 with RHEL8 setup for the repositories. The file name for a manual install is OM-iSM-Dell-Web-LX-5400-3646_A00.tar.gz and when I look through the list of files I don't see it. I even created a test repository for the R660 and specified ALL operating systems, all components and it is still missing. I reviewed the release notes for the 3.4.7 release and do not see anything about this being a known issue. I also checked the log to see if there are issues downloading the file, but as usual the export is missing some Fibre-Channel_Firmware... "Download failed: FOLDER11732948M/1/Fibre-Channel_Firmware_2JN41_LN_16.25.11_A00-00.BIN"
Is there something special about this driver as to why it is not being picked up by DRM?

Hello,
The catalog version 24.12.02, which you might have used for the repo creation, carried an older version of the component. Please do refresh or recreate the repo with the latest catalog version 25.01.20, as it carries the latest executable for this component.
As per the download failure you have faced, it occurs if the DUP carried in the repo as per the catalog, is demoted.
I hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks. I don't actually use the tech as I do not see the value in it vs. my having to manually maintain another OS component.
I just posted since I am just trying to figure out how I can keep Dell servers up-to-date without having to create a silly spreadsheet to keep track of the various components that Dell seems to randomly leave out of their update tools. It's getting old to find continual issues that should not exist...just the other day I noticed that Intel network drivers were omitted from an SUU for one version of RHEL but showed up in another... ::Sigh::

More examples of drivers missing from Dell Repo Manager...I could look the other way on the Boradcom driver but I don't understand why drivers released over a month ago are still missing when you use Dell Repo Manager...8-(

Thanks - it is now showing up after I refreshed the repo today. I didn't specify a catalog version so I am assuming it is using the most recent one. I do not see the specific catalog version anywhere in the DRM interface or the log file from an Export. If I use the Add Repository it shows a new one would use the Base Server Catalog 25.01.27 which I am going to assume I am using, but I cannot prove that I am.
The error downloading that one file has been resolved so I guess that Fiber-Channel download must have been tagged for the repo by mistake since you indicated it was demoted. (It is not in the list of files anywhere.)

We’ve also run into missing drivers in the catalog from time to time. It really feels like the Dell Repo Manager (DRM) doesn’t always sync or update everything consistently across all components. This kind of inconsistency makes managing server updates more frustrating than it needs to be. It would be super helpful if Dell provided official announcements or detailed changelogs with every catalog update—something that clearly lists what’s new, what’s been removed, or if any components have been deprecated. That way, admins can keep track of changes more easily without having to guess or troubleshoot missing packages on their own. Having more transparency on updates would definitely improve the overall experience and reduce confusion.

Hello, opening a case with Dell is the best way to troubleshoot. It may look like everyone might be encountering the same issue, but they also might have all different reasons why.
