QCT1250 vs ECT1250 hdd tray design one =/= the other

These are two distinctly different design of hdd tray.

#1 One design has 3.5 hdd directly mounted on the tray via 4x #6-32 screws en face. Dell video mentions: for Dell Slim ECS1250 or the Dell Tower ECT1250.  E for Economy (or cheap n quick, the old Inspiron).

This design has no ODD. ECT1250 chassis front has no opening for built in ODD any way.

#2

The other design has 4x “HP style” side mount blue grommet which lets the 3.5” hdd slide into a caddy of the tray.

This more elaborate design allows a slim odd to be mounted on top of 3.5 hdd.  Dell video mentions: for

Dell Pro Tower QCT1250/ QCT1255, Dell Pro Tower Plus QBT1250, Dell Pro Slim QCS1250/QCS1255, or the Dell Pro Slim Plus QBS1250.

Q for business class the old Optiplex, “high end”?

The ODD bezel is quite subtle on the front bezel.
ISPY.

Did you know that ECT1250 has two kinds of motherboards (different cpu socket LGA1700 vs LGA1851, different chipset).  Dell is probably slipping in the older Optiplex 7020 motherboard w Q670 chipset and repackage it as the low end option of ECT/QCT w ?new bios.  talk about cleaning out the old stock.
