SNMP issues with IDRAC
I have Vmare ESXI installed on my Dell server. I have tried installed the VIb bundle which was successful and the dell troubleshooting tool can verify the SNMP through my Vmware Management IP.
However i want to use the IDRAC and i have configure the community string using the IDRAC interface but dell troubleshooting tools but i keep getting the error
The SNMP read request has failed for Get Community name - test.
I'll be glad if anyone can assist me on this.
N.B. I read on the forum that there are two option to configure SNMP on the IDRAC .I can only find one.If anyone can point me in the right direction, that will be great

Hi,
Have you performed the following steps on iDRAC console to set the Community Name and Enabled the SNMP Agent? (Refer http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/extras/m/white_papers/20281547.aspx for the detailed steps)
a. Log in to the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 7 console.
b. Navigate to iDRAC Settings > Network > Services.
c. Go to the SNMP Agent section.
d. Select the check box to enable the SNMP Agent.
e. Enter the SNMP Community Name.
f. Scroll to bottom of page if needed and click Apply.
Let us know if it helps.
Thanks,
Vijay
