OME 2.0 does not have IPMI discovery option

Hi,

I have recently deployed OME 2.0 and successfully discovered WS-MAN and SNMP hosts. I am trying to add R210's using IPMI as the protocol but this option does not appear in the discovery protocol list.

I can successfully connect via IPMI to the host using the troubleshooting tool.

Should IPMI appear by default and if so what steps should I take to add it in to OME.

Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for the post!

So OME comes with an option where you can select the "Standard" & "Guided" wizards for discovery. In Standard Wizard you will see the list of all the protocols whereas Guided Wizard will only have the preferred protocols listed as selected by user.

In your case i would recommend you to verify under the Preferences > Discovery Settings which of these are marked as preferred way, Standard or Guided Wizard? If it is set to "Guided" switch it to "Standard Wizard" and select "Apply". 

After all this if you browse back to Discovery and Inventory portal and try adding the same device again for discovery you should start seeing the IPMI in protocol list along with all other protocols.
