Hardware monitoring without SNMP ?
Hello Everyone,
We have several servers with and without OMSA, with SNMP Service configure to send hardware alerts to OME server.
We have one particular server with a custom OS Image (Win 2016) where SNMP Service can't be installed. (Service is not even listed in "Optional features", and powershell installation fails). Also IDRAC is not cabled (not connected)
Is it possible to monitor Hardware having the Endpoint OS without SNMP ? As far as I understand we can use CIM to discover and Inventory, does it work for Hardware monitoring too ? or SNMP is strictly required ?

Hello,
I looked over the manual for OpenManage Enterprise, but I'm not seeing an alternative to SNMP. All the Dell hardware monitoring products that I've supported use SNMP for communication. I haven't seen anyone use an alternative with OpenManage, either in support or as a third party solution. Someone in the community may have encountered a workaround, but unfortunately, there's nothing I could point to. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
