For the love of modern browsers, why Silverlight?

Why does OME still use Silverlight? Windows browsers (including Microsoft Edge) are moving away from supporting Silverlight, and those on Linux don't have any options. Are there plans to switch it to HTML5?

Thanks for the feedback and I'll surely pass it along.  Yes, Chrome will be dropping off in September.  Microsoft will be supporting SL until around 2020.  I don't have any info on future consoles at this point but I'm sure folks are planning for this.

I've seen a few people using Pipelight for running the OME UI in a LInux environment.

Best,

Rob

Chrome already dropped it with version 42 in early April.

Some folks have been re-enabling in the settings (until September).

Yes, please abandon Silverlight. I installed OME and could not use it from my Linux workstation as the Moonlight project is dead.  Thanks for pointing out Pipelight -- I will research such.

Thanks...Feedback passed along.

Yeah, I've played around with a system that had Pipelight on it and OME seemed pretty solid.
