DELL OME and DRM integration issues
Hello
Every time i attempt to create a new repository with DRM i get an error.
DRM is able to connect the to OME server, i can see all the machines, then when atempting to create the bundles, it keeps saying "error retrieving inventory from DELL OME"
OME is version 1.3
DRM is version 1.9
Thanks for the help

Thanks for the question.
Have you run a full inventory cycle in OME? That is, you can see the inventory in OME ok? But RM says it cannot?
There is a RM/OME whitepaper on this site. You may review it as well.
Thanks,
Rob

Thanks for the Reply.
OME does indeed do the inventory no problem, and i can see updates that are available.
Whats the difference of applying updates with OME directly, versus using DRM?
DRM does connect to the OME server(on same machine) and then displays the computers, but when it attempts to proccess updates to create the bundle, i get a error retrieving inventory from dell open manage essentials.
This was all working before i update the OME and DRM versions.

Thanks.
I'm not too familiar with RM. But I don't think it pushes the updates like OME does....only creates a catalog.
There is some info here at the FAQ on the DTC/RM site below.

Probably best to cross post this question on the inventory in the RM forum to see if you can find an RM guy who might have seen this.

Thanks much,

Thanks for the quick response Rob.
I have put an additional post in the DRM forum.
If I use OME by itself, do I get the option of where i want to save the downloaded DUPs?
We were using DRM mainly, so that we could download the files to a network drive, as our local machine hosting OME does not have much storage, then using OME to pickup those files to do the actual push out.
Thanks

Sorry, no. We don’t have configurable share location to store updates in OME. Those are stored in predefined path.
let's see if the RM guys come up with a reply. If not, bump this thread and I'll see if I can poke around more.
Regards,
Rob

Giermo,
I tried connecting on my end, and was able to do so.
I have my OME test system setup on an internal network, and connecting from DRM to the Dell Online Catalog via a proxy server. With DRM running on my Laptop.
Given that you are a regular contributor, I will assume that you have done the obvious items like insure that the ip address of the OME server is correct, and you have your credentials set properly and that if you are using a proxy server that you have it set with DRM (if not Applicaions, Default Proxy not that this would throw off the error you are seeing).
Can I ask you to open a support ticket please so we can get the proper diagnosis.

Okay I will setup a ticket.
Do you have a more direct number I can call to get me to the correct people faster, than just the main dell switchboard ?
Thanks
