Dell OME 1.3.0 not showing latest BIOS for DELL R720
We are using Dell OME version 1.3.0.1533 and we have urgent need to upgrade the BIOS of 10 servers R720 to version 2.2.3.
The Catalog source is ftp://ftp.dell.com/catalog/catalog.cab and is correctly updated.
OME has correctly upgraded DRAC and LifeCycle Controller to latest version which have been released in the first days of May, but is not detecting the BIOS update to version 2.2.3 which has been released on May 30.
Ho can I force an update to the catalog to include BIOS update?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Luca

Thank you all for your quick answers.
I've tried with Repository Manager but setup was failing since it cannot detect .Net 4.5.1 despite it is installed in the system.
The final workaround has been to create an ISO with the BIOS update for Windows 32 bit and to boot in the LifeCycle Controller to perform the upgrade.
Thanks again.
Best regards,
Luca

Hi Luca,
It looks like that version update did not make it into the June 12 catalog (I'm assuming you updated your catalog in OME).
What folks don't always know is that just because a new f/w version shows up for download, it does not mean the catalog picks it up right way. The reason I guess is that the catalog team is aggregating the new drivers from hundreds of devices each month, so they kind of batch them up and test them. So this tends to take a bit of time.
If you open a ticket (800-945-3355 ) the support team should be able to find out how quickly this new version will publish in the catalog.
Thanks much,
Rob

It would be nice to see Dell fix this delay and find a way to update the catalog nightly or at least weekly.
OME should match what is available in the real world.

For now, you can download the BIOS update from Dell support site and create a custom catalog using Dell Repository Manager which can be imported into OME for update. Thanks.

Thanks Cameron,
Yeah, it used to be quarterly, then they pulled it into monthly which is an improvement :)
I'd love for the catalog team to publish weekly, but if you review the size of the catalog you can see that keeping all those moving parts synced up is pretty labor intensive I suppose.
OME just uses the catalog, so we are only as up to date as the speed that the catalog spins, but it's getting better.
Thanks!

Did you try installing the Repository Manager v1.9.155 Build? Can you please reinstall .NET and run the Repository Manager install? We will be glad to help if you have further questions with Repository Manager. Thanks
