Alerts when a managed device is offline?
Can OME be configured to send an email alert when a managed device is off line for a certain period of time or number of polling attempts?
We have branch offices that have lost building power recently and we would like to be alerted when these managed servers are off line.
Thanks,
Brent

Hi Brent,
When OME is not able to reach a server during status poll, OME automatically generates an internal alert to tell that the System is down. All you have to do is go to Preferences page >> Alerts settings and make sure Enable internal connection state Alerts. Point to note, it is enabled by default.

As Pupul mentioned, alerts can be received when a system goes down or comes back up.
If you are looking for a feature where you could define a threshold on the number of attempts to connect to the target, or, on the amount of time the targets remains down to receive the alerts, is not present currently in OME.

Thanks for the extra info. I can live with getting a simple Up/Down notification and will just tweak the polling interval.

Thanks for your quick reply. I must have disabeld "internal connection state" alerts when first configuring OME. After re-enabling this setting, I did indeed receive an email alert this weekend when one of our branches had a brief power outage.
