iSM LC DUP firmware update
I have a 720xd2 - it says that it is running firmware 5.2 - and needs to be upgraded to 5.4. I am running 5.4 on the Windows OS - but I think it is referring to firmware on the LifeCycle Controller - I can't find the download anywhere to update that.
Thank you,
John R.

Hi,
Following the reply if it's Systems-Management_Application_YN8W5_WN64_5.4.0.0_A00.EXE; I found it in the catalog: https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER12213515M/1/Systems-Management_Application_YN8W5_WN64_5.4.0.0_A00.EXE. Maybe this could help.

Hi,
Could there be a typo, R740XD2 instead? I assume it's R740XD2 cause only 14G above can support iSM 5.4: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/idrac-service-module-5.0/ism_support_matrix_5.x_pub
You can follow the older post here https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/systems-management-general/failing-to-update-ism-lc-dup-v351/647f8799f4ccf8a8de6d5471?page=2 to check on the link to download the iSM LC DUP update manually, as stated by Shine before. You may need to download the catalog file to identify the path for download.

@DELL-Joey C Yes, my fault - it is a 740xd2 - I have seen that thread but never saw a reference to the catalog for 5.4 - any help pointing to the correct file would be appreciated. I spent some time and was not able to find it.

@DELL-Marco B That does not work for the LC - already tried i t and it gives an error when you try to update that via the Lifecycle Controller...

The update Marco shared was the correct update, but it is supposed to be launched from the OS not the LCC. If you run it from the OS, are you seeing an error? Also, will you confirm the specific OS you are using?

@DELL-Chris H I have already used the executable from within the OS and it now shows the version as 5.4 (I previously had version 5.2) - however, OpenManage is still showing the firmware as 5.2. Also, logging into the iDRAC shows it as 5.2 as well.

Is the system up to date on BIOS and iDrac?
Also, are you on the latest supported version of OpenManage, and have you tried restarting it?

Hi,
Try: https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER12136874M/1/Systems-Management_Application_258RC_WN64_5.4.0.0_A00.EXE
If the link doesn't help, I might need to suggest to contact the support to raise a case for the direct URL from engineering.

@DELL-Joey C Thanks - already had that link and already installed - that is for the OS, not the Lifecycle Controller...

@TechSB Appreciate your help - but where can I find that file? Did a quick Google search and no luck. Looked on Dell's site and only found this:
Systems-Management_Application_258RC_WN64_5.4.0.0_A00
And that file does not help me - tried it already.

@ratherman
The only way I could get it was by installing Dell DRM and creating a local repository. Dell doesn't list any iSM versions higher than 4.2 being compatible for Generation 12 PowerEdge server though?
