Dell T440
I plan to install Server 2022 w hyper V either core or gui on a Dell T440 dual core server.
Its been awhile but does open manage still require you to install the exe on the host hypervisor?
I had read they still suggest that to have full access to the hardware. Then I see another thread that mentions you need to me a 16GB VM with 4 cores to run it. Which is correct?
And 16GB 4 cores seems bloated to monitor 1 host with 8 VMs on it. Do they have a lighter version? I remember the 2012 version beging quite small and was installed directly to the host not a VM.
Can you clear this up, what version and where to install it. I will be using server 2022.

Hi,
Here are the deployment requirements: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/dell-openmanage-enterprise/ome_4_4_online_help_user_guide/openmanage-enterprise-hardware-requirements?guid=guid-4dcf7fe3-5e2c-493f-b6f8-44d31364311f&lang=en-us. 16GB and 4 Cores are minimum to run OME without plugins.
Are you referring to OMSA, OpenManage Server Administrator which is installed as an .exe? The monitoring of host has moved to the usage of iSM and iDRAC. OMSA is retiring. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000224826/omsa-eol-landing-page

@DELL-Joey C
Yes I was referring to the .exe of open manage.
Here is what I have initial done to test out the T440
1. Installed Server 2022 off a boot USB to the T440
2. run the Chipset_Driver_4DDMJ_WN64_10.1.19913.8607_A00_01.exe reboot
3. Mount SUU_950-x64-WIN-185.ISO updated all the drivers and firmware
4. Mount om_dvd_win11100_5758_A01.iso and installed on Host hypervisor. I installed open manage "server admin". Not sure about the idrac option #2 on installation
Everything is working. And yes it did say open manage is being phased out. I am familiar with it so I still installed it. Not sure how the idrac method is better yet.
