ViPR SRM vs DPA
We are looking at two products: ViPR SRM and Data Protection Advisor.
There seems to be a lot of duplication of information between these two products. Can someone please explain the differences between the two? If we have DPA, do we really need ViPR SRM? And vice-versa?

As with all things in life, "it depends". What are you attempting to accomplish?
DPA is capable of integrating with various backup applications and storage arrays, monitoring replication status and reporting on SLAs.
ViPR SRM is designed to manage aggregated storage arrays and report on consumption and usage. It can also perform provisioning through its aggregated interface.
Does that help?
