Replication: cannot connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx, Name or service not known

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a replication pair between a source DD and target DD - it is a Directory replication type.

There are already three other directories that are being replicated between the source and target DD's - so communication is working fine - theoretically....

I'm using the DD System manager to select source/destination as well as the source and destination directory.

All 8 pre-configure checks pass successfully.

I then get a Replication: cannot connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx, Name or service not known

Anyone know why existing directories would work fine but not new ones ?

And any advice on where to start checking ?

Thanks

Chris

Thanks Sed3000 - I've sort-of inherited the environment and I am still trying to figure out what was done.

After establishing that the DD's could not ping each other I was able to resolve the issue by modifying the hosts file with correct IP/DNS information for the pair. Replication is running fine - I suppose the other 3 replication sessions still had the original IP config and was able to run as the pairs were already in an established state.

Thanks for the links to useful documents.

Regards

Chris
