Terrible monitor / terrible service

I purchased a Dell 27" monitor in Sept 2024.  There was a slight issue with the screen going blank from the start which i eventually discovered was an issue with the power input (I believe a loose / poorly fitted or otherwise malfunctioning internal port). This got worse and worse, and now 4 months on the screen intermittently goes off and certainly will do do if i attempt to raise or lower the screen.  I have not in any way forced the power input / port and indeed used the cable guide (clip at back on monitor stem to tidy the cables). When in eventually lost patience and called Dell tech support, i was told a port issue is not covered by my warranty and is just 'wear and tear'. This problem has been evident since the purchase. I cannot believe Dell is able to sell such cheap and inadequate equipment and then refuse to do anything to remedy it. Appalling customer service and I can't believe doesn't infringe my statutory rights. Please respond.

Update: as I like to be fair minded. I have now received the replacement monitor and everything appears to be working fine.  For anyone having this same issue, check both the monitor power port and the cable; with mine the holes in the latter appeared slightly larger (vs other such leads i have) so was a less than snug fit in the port, maybe exacerbating the issue? That said the old cable appears to be working fine in the new monitor so i think still an issue with the old monitor port.  But credit to the service team for helping sort this out.  My gripe is mainly the initial suggestion i had no case as it was power port related (?!) despite the unit being so new.. and then having to jump through a lot of hoops to get the replacement (inc trying to submit multiple videos to prove the problem). But in the end, all well.

Update! it appears the company has agreed to replace the faulty product, sending a new monitor by courier (though this yet to be confirmed). This is honourable.. though I have to say also only fair.

Per my second comment it looks like i may get a replacement which is decent (but entirely appropriate). They want a video though showing the fault. Perhaps this is a common issue with these monitors!?
