Graphics card paid for but not installed
So, after four years of using my computer, I just found out that the graphics card I paid for was never actually installed. Turns out, I’ve been running on something attached to the “dedicated motherboard” this whole time—who knew?
When I called Dell today, their response was basically: Oops, yeah, that was never installed. But the warranty is over, and you should have checked inside the computer when you got it. Want to buy another one?
Guess I missed the memo that, in addition to purchasing a system, I should have also conducted a full hardware inspection—without voiding the warranty, of course. Good to know!
Now I’m wondering if I should return the two laptops I just bought, since I’m clearly not qualified to verify whether what I paid for is actually in the computer.

Are you referring to the 2019 Precision 3630 Tower?

If yes, based on the invoice, it shows that it shipped with the Nvidia Quadro P2000 video card. You would see it on the back/bottom in the #12 section of this picture. If you connected an external monitor to the back/top #5 DisplayPort, then it would use the onboard Intel UHD.

You don't need to "check inside" the computer. Simply open the device manager.

Shoutout to Chris—thank you for the picture! I pulled the computer out, took a real look, and lo and behold, there is a card in the top horizontal slot.
I humbly apologize for my sarcastic post and will officially retire my computer tech conspiracy theories. Dell, you’re off the hook. And yes, I’ll keep the laptops too. 😅

The Nvidia Quadro P2000 video card should have four video out DP (DisplayPort) ports. Check your monitor to see what video in ports it offers.
