New SC220, cannot assign unassigned disks
We are adding a new SC220 enclosure (10K 600GB disks) to an existing SC8000 system. The new disks appear in Unassigned folder. However, when trying to assign "unrecognized disks were selected" and classification is shown and "Unknown".
Is it due to old version of SCOS not recognizing new disks' firmware? (6.2.1.107)
This system has not been updated since 2012. Is it possible to update online by Phone Home? Or do we need Copilot assistance?

Yes it is because the system doesn't know about the newer disk drives. You will need to to an SCOS update for them to be recognized. You must call into Copilot and have them do a health check and release the newer firmware. The newer code isn't available without their assistance.
