definitions of BE and FE IO and KB

I'm looking of definitions of FE and BE for both IO and KB.  The Storage Center documentation doesn't provide any.

Thanks,

FE typically means Front End (connections from the SAN array controllers to the switches or hosts)

BE typically means Back End (connections from the SAN array controllers to the disk enclosures)

I'm not sure what you mean with IO and KB (I know their typical meansing, but not sure how this would related to FE and BE).

Thanks,

In enterprise manager there's fe io and fe kb threshold settings.  I'm not clear on how to use the fe and be numbers for performance evaluation.

They really refer to IOPS and KB/sec on the front-end and back-end of the controllers. The Back-End numbers can fluctuate quite a bit depending on the activity of features like data migration. Front-End IOPS and KB/sec should be pretty straight forward
