Brocade 300 ISL Trunk
Hi,
HW INFO:
-2x R640 with 2x HBA
-2x Brocade 300
-SCv3020
-SCv300
Cabling
?
1. Do I need to connect cable between Brocade 300 to enable ISL Trunk
2. What are benefit if I enable ISL Trunk between them
3. In what situation I need to enable ISL Trunk
4. Is ISL Trunk same meaning as StackWIse cable in Cisco.
So instead of config each switch separately. I can connect to either switch but can config other switch too
5. If I enable ISL Trunk. Do I need to change my existing WWN zoning
thanks

Hello,
With the SCv3020, and 2 FC switches you would not ISL trunk them, you would want 2 separate fabrics to accommodate 2 separate Fault Domains. You would use an ISL if you needed to connect another switch for additional ports, I'm not familiar with Cisco Stackwise so I cannot address that.

Hello nbctcp-gmail.com,
As Just Dave stated you want to have 2 separate fabrics for your SCv3020. ISL are not needed unless you need more ports on your switch. Here is a link to the Deployment guide for your SCv3020, & if you look on page 38 it shows best practice for cabling your SCv3020. http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/storage-scv3000_deployment-guide_en-us.pdf
