Statistics Logging CX4-120

Hi

I would like to know if there is anything I should know before turning on Statistics Logging on the CX4-120.

Things like, space used, processing overhead etc

I am looking at some performance issues

Thanks

Hi,

Each storage processor (SP) maintains a log of statistics for the LUNs, disks, and storage-system caching. You can turn this log on or off. Statistics logging affects storage-system performance, so you may want to leave it off unless you have a reason to monitor performance. The statistics log uses a 32-bit counter to maintain the statistics, so when the counter is full, the statistics restart at zero. As a result, you will see a sudden decrease in a statistic if you view it shortly before the counter is full and shortly after the counter restarts at zero. If you want to keep the log turned on for more than two weeks, you should reset the log about every two weeks, so you know when the statistics start at zero
