Is Version 30 the last FLARE for CX4 Array ?
Hi,
We are running 2 CX4 CLARiiON storage arrays. One of them is running FLARE 30 and the other one is FLARE 29.
Just get a mail from vendor telling us to conduct annual FLARE upgrade. Since one of them is already running FLARE 30, we think we can opt for upgrading the one running FLARE 29 only. Is it sensible ?
Besides, for buget planning, we would like to know whether FLARE 30 will not be upgraded in the future (Our gears still have another 2 years to go).
Thanks

As far as I am aware there won't be any FLARE Release for CX4 Series but it is likely that they would release Patches as and when required. At present, Patch 524 is the latest patch for FLARE Release 30 which has many critical bug fixes.
You may refer to EMC CX4 Series FLARE Operating Environment 04.30.000.5.524 Release Notes for the same.

Flare 30 patch 524 is the latest available code for CX4 systems.
I would suggest to keep the systems updated as per EMC recommendations. The system running FLARE 30 can be upgraded to the latest patch (if it is not running the latest) . Also there may be some bugs encountered with the current running code which are rectified in the later patches.
