EMC Clariion array compatibility with vSphere ESXi 5.1
Hi Folks,
Does the old EMC Clariion CX4-240 (Flare 04.30) and CX3-20f (Flare 03.26) can supports VMware ESXi 5.1 Update 1 ?
is there any issue in upgrading the ESXi servers into 5.1u1 and the VMFS 5 data store ?
Thanks in advance

i imagine it will work as pure block storage but anything fancy like VAAI, and other integration points probably won't work. If you have plans to use it in production i would be very cautions because any calls to VMware support will be directed to the support matrix and support maybe refused.

Dynamox, thanks for the quick reply.
I can see CX4-240 in the result, but no CX3, does it means that it doesn't supports it no matter the FLARE version ?

Don't forget to check the E-Lab for all compatibility questions.
Also, you can look at KB Article 91644 for information about which flare versions support VAAI.

Thanks Glen for the clarification, my CX4-240 FLARE version is 04.30.000.5.525 so it can be said that I'm running the FLARE 30 as per this screenshot from the VMware HCL site:
