Cx3-40 versus CX3-40f

I am extremely new to SAN and have been given the task of putting together a list of information on the machines that the team I am on administer.  I've mostly been using datasheets, but I cannot seem to find any information on the difference between CX3-40 and the CX3-40f.

Also any recommendations on learning the relationship between the CLARiiON series and Celerra would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

CX3-40f is with fibre channel front-end (host attachment) support only, and CX3-40c is combo (which supports both FC and iSCSI connections) model.

Vipin is correct…

EMC CX3-40f offers eight 4GB Fibre Channel host connections and four back end drive loops. And EMC CX3-40c provides four 4GB Fibre Channel host connections and eight iSCSI host connections…..

And may I know if you have access to Powerlink….?

Since CX3 is End of Life product., you may not get too many document.., However you may refer few document from the below mentioned path from Powerlink

Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > CLARiiON CX3 UltraScale Series Systems > CLARiiON CX3-20
