AX4-5 SPA can't reachable

Hi All , Am new in EMC , and am installing a AX4-5 , and i faced a probelm that i could change the ip for SPB witch it was (172.0.3.101)  and then i were trying to change the SPA , but i can't get replay when i ping , the SPA ip should be for defualt (172.0.3.100) , I tried to connect dirictly to the SPA using LAN , and not pingable , and i don't know what i have to do now , Why it's works with SPB and not on SPA , can i use Serial Port ? or some way to fix the problem ?, please Advice

Was the system purchased from as a second hand one ?

Is there any data in your system ? if not I think you can try re-inserting the FLARE drives back in order () and can go for a complete system reboot . Let us see if it works.

May I know how you changed the IP address (using default IP address or using initialization utility) ?

Also do you have any amber LED on the front of the storage ?

I dont think you are getting response from SP A also, as the FLARE drives (first 4 drives) are totally misplaced here.

Just insert 0th numbered drive in first slot (i.e, slot 0) 1 numbered disk in next slot and so on...

It is amazing for me. How can system work if flare drives do not seat on correct places? Did system work due to flare drive placed in slot 1? Or does clariion able to find and use flare drives through all enclosure?

Ahmedj, i had the similar problem with clariion cx3-80, SP reboot helped me :-)

SPA uses Disks 0 and 2, SPB uses Disks 1 and 3.  Since each SP mirrors it's data across two disks, having a valid FLARE disk in at least one of the first 4 slots will allow at least one SP to boot.  So in the case where a FLARE disk is in Slot 1, but all 3 of the other FLARE disks are missing, SPB can boot from slot 1, but SPA will not be able to boot.

An AX, CX, CX3, CX4, and VNX system can remain online with accessible user data with as few as just 1 surviving FLARE disk.  If there is a user RAID Group on the first 4 disks, that will likely be unavailable however.
