VNX simulator 8.1.8-37119 won't allow me to change new cifs server password

I have loaded the 8.1.8-37119 .ova file into VMware Workstation 12 Player  and set it to be 8 GB (2 DM sim.)

I've used unisphere to

enables the licenses

started the cifs server using server_setup server_2 -Protocol cifs -option start

I used unisphere to

enabled unicode for server_2

created an interface on server_2

created a standalone cifs server on server_2 using the configured I/F

BUT...When I try to change the default Administrator password ( that I set when I created the cifs server) from my Windows box I get access denied.

I can't get a screen shot of that but the format is

         \RBwin2016S\Administrator

          nasadmin

..     spinning circle for about 15 seconds

access denied

I do the exact same steps using the 8.1.0-38015 .ova simulator and I have no problems changing the password or anything else.

Can someone please point out what I'm not doing correctly if anything & what I can do to get this to work.

I think this is a Bug on file version 8.1

you can run command:

$server_param server_2 -facility cifs -modify nullSession -value 2

then change your password

server_param server_2 –facility cifs –modify nullSession –value 0
