User access AD with NX4 ( access denied )

Dears,

I was testing the NX4 before i do the real implementation .

I was testing it with two users one active domain and the second test user with no privilege.

After finishing everything i tried to access from other user on the domain and i got from all users access denied.( permission denied if i am correct)

I even tried to copy the users from LDAP with MANAGE LDAP and i got an error something related to settings while everything was ok .

What have been done:

Create CIFS server , join to domain , mount a share

Use the CIFS MMC to create home folders

     mount iSCSI Luns.

I dont know if i these two users were kept in cache and the link with the AD had brake down.

I appreciate your help .

Regards.

You need to have at least one CIFS share created in order to access the CIFS server from a windows client.

Also, what is your user-mapping method? Are you running Usermapper (by default it is on) on the data mover - check it out by going to CIFS - Usermapper

And to recap your situatuion - your CIFS server is joined to the Domain but only two users can access it - not any other user even from the AD - is that so?

Did you change the share level permission (Not the NTFS security- but the share permission)? Check it out as well. By default the share level permission is everyone full control.

As Rainer suggested, please check the data mover log (server_log command) when you are trying to access using the users.

My 2 cents

Take a look at the data mover log using server_log if there are any errors when you access

A server_checkup can also point out potential causes

I would suggest to logoff your Windows client and the login again

ONE Windows client only ever uses ONE set of credentials talking to one CIFS server

Dear,

I tried so many times and no success, only these two users can access and the others cannot.

Dont know if i messed up with some permissions , cause even when trying to access the CIFS server with no shares at all i get the access denied check permission message for all other users.
