Same cavas for different celerras.

hi all,

1) i have two cava servers for celerra ns40g(gateway with backend as clariion), now i have a new ns480fc(unified model) can i use the same two cava servers?

2 )i know that vdm is good practice when using in replicator v2, but what is the difference between vdm replication and fs replication?

3)please brief on NSS(Northen Storage Suit) and also tell me NSS is  a mandatory or optional option?

Thanks in advance

Abhilash.

1) I think so – if your existing CAVA servers have enough performance left

2) Please see the VDM manual – if you are replication the VDM you are also replication the CIFS config (local users/groups/shares) so that you can do a failover.

replicating just the fs replicates only the data – which is enough if you just want to use it as online backup

3) NSS is optional software – it implements a quota system beyond the builtin quotas – similar to NTP Quota software

I just answered one of your other questions. These seem so unrelated that I have to guess you are looking for answers to your homework or something. If these are legitimate questions, a simple PowerLink or Google search will show you the results. I don't want to run off new members, but I can't help but think this is shady.
