Problem with VMWARE SRM 5.0 using Celerra replication
We have SRM configured using Celerra datastore and teh VNX/Celerra SRA. We have successfull been able to run a recovery plan to failover to the recovery site. We were then able to successfully reprotect the recovery site. Whe we attempt to run the recovery again to failback to the original protected site, the plan fails and states: Error - Failed to promote replica devices. Timed out (301 seconds) while waiting for SRA to complete 'failover' command.
Has anyone seen this issue and if so, what do you have to do in order to failback to the original protected location?

Hi,
Could this be issue with the default timeout value for SRA commands:
you can try to increase the timeout value from the SRA and check if this works:

Sameer,
I increased the timeout setting you suggested and the process is now working as it should. We have had support tickets open with both EMC and VMWare for about three weeks and they have not been able to figure it out. EMC Engineering has even been engaged. Thank you for the suggestion and hopefully support will make note of this totally simple solution. I only wish I would have posted my issue here a lot sooner.

So are you just an EMC customer? If not, I find it kind of amusing that we’ve had this open with EMC for weeks and have sent them numerous logs, done two or three webex’s and they still haven’t figured it out.
