Hi,

what sense does a failover within one data mover make ?

If you just want to make sure that your replicated data is fine just connect through C$ of a DM global CIFS server and navigate down to your replicated file system.

Out of two replicated vdm’s only one can be active at any time – otherwise you would have problems with duplicate CIFS servers on the network.

I would suggest to take a look at the VDM manual to get an understanding what the VDM states mean.
