Celerra CIFS data migration
We have NS-120 & NS-20 NAS storage arrays inour site. We want to migrate all the existing CIFS data from the NS20 storage array to NS-120 NAS.
We are currently considering two options to migrate the data, through Celerra Replicator V2 or by using host-based migration tools.
We don't have any VDMs created in the NS-20 storage array. I need suggestions for the following :-
How to move the existing filesystems in NS20 to VDM ? So that the migration is easier using VDMs in Celerra Replicator.
If we can't move the filesystems to VDM, how can we migrate the CIFS server properties to the NS-120 storage array ?
Thanks in Advance

You can move the CIFS environment to a VDM by following the steps exactly as outline in the following KB article.
emc170111: "How to move a CIFS server from a physical Data Mover to a Virtual Data Mover (VDM)"
If you are running DART 6 on the NS120, if you can upgrade the NS20 to at least 5.6.47 (as noted in the release notes), this is a supported Celerra Replicator v2 configuration.
As for the location of SHAREDUP and LGDUP, refer to the comments in the following post:
https://community.emc.com/message/585136#585136
[...]
Until we have a separate download for SHAREDUP and LGDUP as we have for EMCOPY (PowerLink breadcrumb trail noted below), for these applications which are not specific to the VNX or Celerra, I would recommend downloading the latest CIFSTools.zip which is v7.0.35-3. Even though the numbering suggests they are VNX specific, these three utilities are an example where that is not the case, and if you were to compare, as of this writing, you would find that the CIFSTools.zip (v7.0.35-3) has a newer version of SHAREDUP than the Celerra Tools and Apps CD (v6.0.51-6). You will find that this is always/often the case as it takes time for engineering to respin a new (400MB+) ISO vs (10MB) ZIP.
COMPARISON:
===========
1) Celerra Tools and Apps CD v6.0.51-6_apps.iso contains SHAREDUP v02.03
2) CIFSTools.zip v7.0.35-3 contains SHAREDUP v02.04
As for where to obtain CIFSTools.zip, it is available in two locations:
1) Available to everyone via support1.emc.com (for those in the pilot program it was: supportbeta.emc.com which now redirects)
a) Navigate to: https://support1.emc.com
b) Select "Downloads" in the blue banner menu
c) Enter your model such as NS-120 or VNX5500 (it will start filling in as you type)
d) From the results, search for "CIFSTools.zip" (NOTE: even if you select NS-120, CIFSTool.zip v7.0.35-3 returns in the list of results)
2) Available to partners from PowerLink via the "EMC Services Partner Web" portal (never was available from PowerLink itself for some reason)
On the other hand, I always look to PowerLink for the latest copy of EMCOPY via the following breadcrumb trail (but still compare to CIFSTools.zip to confirm):
Home > Support > Product and Diagnostic Tools > Celerra Tools > Windows Migration Tools > EMCOPY

Replicator is the easiest
Instructions on how to move a CIFS server into a VDM are in the knowledgebase
Alternatively you can use sharedup/lgdup and use Replicator without VDM

According to your description, the NS-20 don't have any VDM, So the CIFS server properties can't be migrated to new Celerra and it's necessary to configuring the environment for domain in the NS-120. You can migrate the FS in the NS-20 to VDM in the NS120 using Celerra replicator.
First configuring Celerra network servers, and then configuring DM interconnects, finally creating a file system replication session. Please using the GUI to configure it, if you have any problem, please feel free to tell us.

Due to the low Dart code (NS20), we are planning for migration using EMCopy with Lgdup & Sharedup tools. I was able to find the latest emcopy(4.12) from powerlink.
Where can I find the latest lgdup & sharedup tools for download?

You mention: "Due to the low Dart code (NS20)". Unless you have reservations with an upgrade to the NS20 or can't take the downtime up-front to upgrade (but of course with the LGDUP/EMCOPY/SHAREDUP strategy will have its own periods of required downtime), for more information on what is supported, view the NAS Support Matrix:
http://powerlink.emc.com/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/Interoperability_Matrix/NASSupportMatrix.pdf
As mentioned above, if by now you are running DART 6.0 on the NS-120, you only need a minimum of 5.6.47 running on the NS20. Keep in mind, with the proper version of FLARE, the NS20 also supports DART 6.0 as noted in the NAS Support Matrix (and Release Notes).
1) Under the "System Requirements for Replicator v2" section:
[...]
Following are the Replicatorv2 system requirements:
• NAS 5.6 or greater is required for Replicator v2.
• Replicator works with any backend systems supported for Celerra and VNX File..
• Replication between DART 5.6.x and DART 6.x and VNX File 7.x is supported with DART 5.6.47 and higher.
• Total storage capacity per DM (including Replicator SavVol and SnapSure SavVol) not exceed the limits
listed in the NAS Interoperability Matrix.
[...]
2) Supported versions of DART running on the NS20 (Under the "NAS Connectivity" table)
3) Replicator v2 license
Not sure if it is a concern for you, but if you follow-up with your service provider they can look into a temporary Replicator v2 entitlement for the migration

Thanks Christopher,
You've clarified my doubts. We are still evaluating some options.
I was able to download the cifs tools with your help.
Currently we are having 5.6.43 & there is a nas version mismatch for Celerra Replicator. Also we cannot move the existing CIFS servers to VDM right now.
Yes, we are certainly considering for the upgrade option, but there are difficulties for getting the downtime

using replicator is probably the easiest but if that's is not available then you will need to rely on host based tools like emcopy/robocopy for windows shares and rsync for Unix/Linux.

is your goal to keep the same CIFS server name ?
