Celerra CIFS Auditing
I want to enable auditing in Celerra to monitor file access ( read/write/delete/permissions) for a particular filesystem on a cifs server (vdm). Is it possible to only audit this CIFS Server and filsystem on a datamover. There are other CIFS servers (VDMs) on this datamover.
I was reading document 'Using Windows Administrative Tools with Celerra' and it says " To audit CIFS servers on a Data Mover, use the Celerra Data Mover Security Management Console, which is a MMC snap-in to the Celerra Management Console.By default, auditing is disabled for all Windows object classes. To enable auditing, you must explicitly turn it on for specific events on specific Data Movers. After it is enabled, auditing is initiated whenever the CIFS service on the relevant Data Mover is started, and terminated whenever the CIFS service is stopped."
Does this mean that when I enable auditing on physical datamover, it will also audit all the CIFS servers (vdm) on the datamover? Is there a way to restriict auditing for a particular CIFS server on a datamover?
thanks in advance

No – while you have to enable auding on a data mover basis
you can then configure auditing on a per CIFS server basis
just enabling auditing will not generate any events – it will just make it possible to do so

Is there a way to audit NFS export files/permissions in Celerra. Or the auditing is limited to just CIFS access?
