MX7000 update
Hi all
we have an MX7000 with running firmware 1.20.10 and we want to update it to the last one 2.20.10
the MX7000 is not connected to internet.
we will use the Dell Update Package method (DUP)
1. should we only download the OME firmware package and start update or we need also to download other packages such as idrac , ...
2. can we move directly from 1.20.10 to 2.20.10 ?
Thanks

Hello,
This would be the DUP for 7.00.00.174.
File Format:
Update Package for MS Windows 64-Bit.
File Name:

Hi,
Here's the OME-M's firmware update matrix, https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-mx7000/omem_2.20.00_ug/ome-modular-firmware-update-matrix?guid=guid-170ee06f-5153-4b0f-9c4a-6f4a8a106b0c&lang=en-us, you can't update direct to 2.20 from 1.20. It needs to be updated in stages.
Here's a guide for phased update: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-mx7000/omem_2.20.00_ug/updating-components-in-phased-update-order-through-manual-orchestration?guid=guid-55ad5b63-d8d7-4ec5-88dd-99d2be356ce5&lang=en-us
Here's the solution baseline guide for server components: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-mx7000/omem_2.20.00_ug/updating-mx7000-components-using-ome-modular?guid=guid-c9c95003-d6a4-489f-972c-2e4074e75b94&lang=en-us

Hi @DELL-Joey C
Thank you for your clear answer.
The package will update only the open manage enterprise - modular baseline but how to update the rest such as idrac lifecycle and bios and network cards ...

Hi,
just a heads up on updating OME-M. First, update OME-M step-by-step. Then, grab the separate DUPs for all the other server and IO components. Finally, use the updated OME-M with an offline repository to install those component DUPs. Also take look this article dl.dell.com/manuals/common/MX7000_Firmware_Update.pdf
Hope that helps!
