A fabric mismatch detected for mezzanine card C
Hi,
We have blade chassis M1000e with passthru modules "DELL 10GbE XAUI PTM" and several working M710 blades with "Intel 10GbE/FCoE Dual KR X-520" NICs in fabric C.
Now two new M620 blades with "BRCM 10GbE 2P 57810S-k Mezz" NICs in fabric C were installed into chassis, and I am unable to power them on, getting error:
HWC2008: A fabric mismatch detected for mezzanine card C.
Detailed Description:
The fabric type for the IOM and mezzanine cards must match. Once an IOM or mezzanine card is inserted into the chassis, the fabric type is then set for the CMC and the CMC will ensure that all subsequent IOM's and mezzanine cards match.
Recommended Action:
Check chassis fabric type in CMC GUI and compare to the type of IOM or mezzanine card.
Does this mean the Broadcom 10Gb NICs are not compatible with the passthru module?
Thanks!

Hi,
As per the support matrix only the listed cards support10GbE XAUI PTM.
Since its a 2 different protocol XAUI Vs. KR, broadcom could not establish the link due to non backward compatibility.
Dell 10Gb Ethernet Pass Through II supports the following XAUI-based adapters:
Broadcom 57710 mezzanine card
Broadcom 57711 mezzanine card
Intel X520 mezzanine card
Intel X520-x/k mezzanine card
QLogic QME8142 mezzanine card
Emulex OCm10102-f-m mezzanine card
