Multi Grid, Multi Domain Avamar 6.1 Client Upgrades and installs
Hello,
We have multiple avamar grids, supporting multiple domains / groups. We are attempting to build an altiris install package to push out to upgrade our client but hit a wall when we noticed that we have to specify a server (when there are multiple grids) and a group (when there are multiple depending on the user) in the launch commands. We cannot write in many different servers and groups, and don't want to build many different packages. What is the best way to handle this?

You can use the in-built Avamar client manager to push upgrades to clients via the web interface. Have you considered this already but decided not to use it? If not then get the Admin guide from powerlink and have a look as it is well documented (better than me explaining it) in there. I have used it and it does work well.

Thank you! I will pass this our our deployment team to see if we can adapt our process, seems to make sense!

FYI - you cannot push the upgrade to AIX or NDMP
but windows and Linux work great with the push - it will create jobs in the activity monitor - you can watch there and see if any of them fail.
beware of windows client Clusters - they might have an issue (well mine have in the past)
