Avamar - Editing sysctl.conf

I have a question about editing /etc/sysctl.conf – particularly in regards to adding “net.ipv4.tcp_window_scaling = 1”. Is this possible? What are the implications?

Thanks,

Updating sysctl.conf is the correct way to change kernel parameters but any change like this needs to be qualified.

Is there another way to modify TCP Windows Scaling and maintain that parameter after a reboot?

Any modifications to OS settings would have to be handled through the RPQ process.
