m17 R1, power cord cracks
I own an out of warranty Alienware m17 R1. In the last 18 months I have had to replace the power cord 5 times. The problem is the AC adapter isn't flexible enough and cracks over time exposing the wires and causing them to fray. What can I do to alleviate this issue?

Hi @JPenven thank you for sharing image. The dc plug is inserted into the dc port at the rear. Connect the power adapter to laptop Am I right in guessing that the space behind the laptop is small forcing the power cord into a tight bend and/or the ac adapter body is some distance away and pulling on the power cord? Would a Dell 19.5V Female-To-Male Right Angle Adapter with Central Diagnostic Wire fix this problem?

Yeah I was kind of wondering about that. Are there any adapters that work with the full 240?

I would not recommend buying that specific adapter as it says it doesen't work with adapters over 120w.

Hi @JPenven thank you for sharing update that the Alienware m17 ac adapter's output is 240W. Please note that link to @DELL-Cares should be used to get the OEM DP/N for your system. The Alienware m17 Documentation does not provide this information. User does not work for Dell and can only provide limited information that an internet search will provide.
Hi @DELL-Chris M would it be possible to look at Dell's internal catalogue and share this part's Dell OEM DP/N for Dell users/customers? Thank you in anticipation.

I believe I need the part number for the Dell 19.5V Female-To-Male Right Angle Adapter that works with a 240w. Is that the correct assumption?

We never provided a right angle adapter. The m17 R1 shipped with the 5120P power cable that connects to the 240W Delta AC power adapter. That in turn connects to the m17 R1. The the 240W Delta AC power adapter cable has much slack in it so not sure why you are putting stress on it with a drastic bend?
