M15x SATA Hard Drive Data Recovery

Alienware M15x

Alienware M15x

I have an old Alienware M15x (purchased in Sept 2010) that I am trying to recover the hard drive for. I purchased a USB adapter for 2.5" SATA 3 drives, but the connection does not match (BENFEI 2.5 Inch SATA to USB Tool Free External Hard Drive Enclosure). The drive is a Seagate Momentus 7400 4; SN: 5VG6JCRH. Is the connection on this hard drive proprietary? Is there a USB adapter out there that will work for this drive? I believe that the laptop has other hardware issues (I currently don't have a power cable for it), so is there a way to recover the hard drive without the laptop booting?

@dantheman_25

Remove the interposer on the back of the drive - underneath will be a standard SATA power and data connector.

Remove the drive from any caddy holding it -- it is a standard 2.5" SATA drive and will work with that adapter.

@ejn63 thanks for the response. IT definitely does not fit in this adapter. Here are a couple of images of the HDD connections, if that helps.

@ejn63 you are correct. Pulling on the black tabs at the ends removed a slim interposer which then allowed me to connect to the standard adapter. I didn't even think to try that. Thank you such much.
