m15 R7, won’t charge unless I wiggle and hold the charging cable
About a month ago, I noticed my m15 R7 would occasionally stop charging and then reconnect automatically. This happened 3 or 4 times throughout the month, but today it completely stopped charging unless I hold the charging cable in a specific position.
I’ve already tested it with another 180W charger and the issue remains, so I suspect the DC port is the problem.
My questions are:
Does this require replacing the DC port?
If so, where can I get a replacement?
Does the replacement involve soldering?
I’m fairly handy with tech, so if it’s a simple part swap I can handle it myself. But if soldering is required, I might need to seek help. Thanks in advance!

Luckily, it seems that the m15 R7 has a replaceable power adapter port that plugs into the motherboard so you should only have to find one of these ports and you should be able to replace it yourself.
Take a look through the service manual and see if this is something you're happy attempting.

This looks to be the one here

They are very often soldered to the board, which makes things a little more difficult and expensive. Good luck with the replacement. Take your time to help reduce the risk of extra damage. It could also be a good time for some heatsink maintenance by replacing the CPU and GPU thermal paste.

Thanks! Yeah, I'll definitely get PTM7950 as well so I can replace that later on. I usually run my laptop with an Ilano cooler, so the temperatures stay pretty low most of the time. Appreciate the advice!
