m15 R3, exceeding 100°C on regular basis
Hello everyone,
I've noticed over the past few months that my laptop is running hotter. I then discovered that the Alienware FX temp gauge maxes out at 100°C so I downloaded HWInfo64 to verify the temperatures.
Just to establish a baseline, when I first received my Alienware laptop it would reach about 95°C while gaming (X-plane). I checked the CPU temp using HWiNFO while using X-plane and it reached a steady temp of 105°C. I checked again yesterday using the same scenario and it reached a steady temp of 107°C. Of course, performance is suffering. At time it can below 1k Mhz.
It seems to be getting gradually worse and I am wondering if I need to have my CPU repasted or something from Dell? This my 2nd Alienware laptop and I have never seen sustained temps of 107°C before.
Please do not respond with the usual 'trouble shooting' sheet Dell provides. I've already been through that and it doesn't really help.
Thoughts?
Thanks
