m15 R1, Touchpad driver not appearing in system tree
Alienware m15
So, I am running Windows 11 on an m15 R1. In the Windows Settings, there is no option to turn it off, nor does FN+F11 do anything. I cannot disable the driver, because it is not there. It used to be called "Touchpad' there, now the HID-Event Filler will not let me remove it. I have clean installed Windows, rolled backed drivers and searched the web for a solution. I feel installing a older driver, for the Touchpad would fix it, but there isn't one from Dell, or at least that I saw.

I got this issue some months ago.
Starting from one of the updates, both Windows 10 and Windows 11 stop using manufacturer touchpad drivers, but use Microsoft ones.
This provides a mess with touchpad sometimes. Reinstall didn't help, Windows just update it back (how do i HATE it's drivers and BIOS auto-update...)
I solve it rolling back driver with diagnostic "stop working", but i fell it's for a while only...

Hi @SnowFlame welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Please click on Drivers & Downloads and then click on Check for Updates. Restart (not Shut Down) to save. Go to Device Manager to determine if there are any drivers that have been moved to the right and look for any driver with yellow warning triangle. Did not find Dell touchpad driver, and it seems that the Window 11 operating system wants to use the user enabled Microsoft precision touchpad driver. What Is a “Precision Touchpad” on Windows PCs? Hi @SnowFlame Microsoft automatically updates touchpad software. First, make sure you've installed the latest Windows Update, then try troubleshooting.
