You have posted this 4 times today, you will be answered but give it a little time and patience. Briefly do you hear any beeps, any blinking diagnostic codes, did you see the Dell logo at all. In addition have you made any changes or updates before the problem started? Was the system working properly before the problem started? Have you tried a reset? To reset disconnect the battery and adapter then press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try to boot again.

Hi,Thank you for your answer back. There ie no beep ,no logo ,no flashing light. Just a black screen, touch pad is not lighting up, fans are on full speed. I update the BIOS  to latest version  a week ago. The laptop was working properly toil yesterday when this happened. I have tried a RTC rest but no success. So I do not know what cause this problem. When i tried the RTC reset the laptop dash 3 times red light and restarting, after same problem black screen fans on full speed and nothing else.

I just tried now what you mention in the post and followed the steps like in you post and the same black screen. This is very annoying.

At 7 years old it is possibly a CMOS battery problem. However 3 red (Amber) lights could also indicate a motherboard or chipset error. Just to eliminate the possibility of a CMOS battery I would suggest replacing it with a brand new CMOS (coin cell) battery. Also try pulling all of the RAM and boot the system. You should get an error or beeps indicating that the MB senses no RAM. If nothing happens then it would start to look more like the MB. Also pull the SSD/HDD and try to boot just to eliminate the SSD/HDD as a possible cause.

Thanks again. I will try all of this when I get back home and let you. I tried the bit with all the ram pulled out and is giving the flashing lights for no ram found. But I will let you know when I get back.

That's something and somewhat encouraging that the MB detects no RAM. This support page help as well.

With all the ram pulled out 2 red lights flashing and 3 blue lights flashing. With the sad and the hard drive removed no flashing lights (none)still black screen.
