17 R3, battery is temporary disable, unit is not at operation temperature
Alienware 17 R3
The battery on my Alienware 17 R3 was disabled while I was gaming. The PC shut down and since then I receive the following message whenever I start up. "this battery is temporary disable, please turn off the computer, reseat the AC adapter and try again when the unit is back to operational temperature. It still allows me to press F1 and continue but I don't know how to enable my battery again and the PC temperature seems to be fine now.

Hi @joashkisten welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Battery Disabled notification in the computer. - Microsoft Community Try the following:-
smudgered (Replied on April 14, 2016) There is speculation that smart battery technology has additional circuitry to enable software reporting and management and maybe this got out of sync and had to be reset by this method.
(1) Shut down computer and disconnected charger (ac adapter) and Ethernet (all external connections)
(2) Removed (disconnect) battery and held power button 30 seconds to drain all charge from computer (Flea Power Release)
(3) Plugged in charger
(4) Started computer on AC Power (worked OK)
(5) Shut down computer
(6) Disconnected Charger and held power button 30 seconds to drain all charge from computer (waited a little while before next step just to be sure)
(7) Installed battery
(8) Connected charger (charging light showed that now charging)
(9) Waited for battery to completely recharge (charging light out)
(10) Started computer. (All well and back to normal at this point)
