AW3423DW, I damaged the panel

I have damaged panel by accidentally putting too much pressure on the screen when I was mounting the screen. There is a circle of damaged pixels where my thumb is. Its heartbreaking as the screen is new and I didn't realize how sensitive the panel is to pressure. Anyway I reached out to support who simply replied that I have to buy a new one! I asked about an option to repair but they never even bothered to reply so I am asking here.

No, Dell does not repair monitors.

Even most local computer repair shops don't really fix monitors (only very minor issues). Finally, you can't "fix" a damaged TN/IPS display-panel.

Check your credit card. Some offer accidental damage protection on purchases.

I'm still not sure how you managed to break it. Did it fall ?

I don't believe that can be repaired.

Yes, I read it the first time.

I was just curious why he was touching the actual display-panel in the first place. Maybe to prevent further problems by him or others reading ... suggest an alternative procedure. I just can't think of a scenario where it's required. Or, even allowed as AFAIK, it's not a Touch-Screen.

It's OLED and by design they are thin. When I got my TV, we had to assemble the panel in the base. The panel was as thick as a credit card. It felt like holding on to a 65 inch piece of thin cardboard. I remember sweating a lot when we put that together....

Don't know about this specific screen, but I am thinking it's thinner than a regular display and much lighter in weight.
