AW2723DF, random black screen
Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor AW2723DF
Hello.
My problem with the AW2723DF is that the picture randomly goes off and the screen turns black, then after 1 or 2 seconds, the picture comes back. I have three AW2723DF with this issue, and it happens with each one of them.

Hi all,
Current workaround: Please disable the HDR and this should be resolved.
Let us know if this fixed the issue.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Have you found out why the monitor is doing this? I'm thinking about sending it back...

They have already replaced one of these monitors for me, but the new one produces the same error.

I have the same problem. It's not the cable. I have found out 2 solutions.
1. Change the color depth to 10bit. (not 8bit)
2. Do not turn on your computer with 240hz. (239hz, 280hz and other refresh rate is OK)

I have tried your solution. Turn off both monitor menu and windows HDR, but unfortunately it does not work. This problem is so disappointing.

I found a new solution. Turn off "DSC" in the monitor menu. (display menu, above the PIP/PBP)

Same exact issue as well, getting a replacement. Have had 2 faulty ones and wont give refund. For a flagship product this is disgusting. So many people having the same issue and they have not addressed the situation at all.

I have found the issue, it's not an issue with the monitor it's an issue with Nvidia Drivers, having the DSC setting enabled under 'Display' in the OS causes the random black screens, the monitor disconnecting from certain games and other display issues, sadly the only way to fix this right now is to disable DSC, you can still do 280hz at 1440p but unfortunately you are limited to 8 bit on the YCbCr442 color space, reverting to older nvidia Drivers can also POSSIBLY fix this bug but it is NOT a defective display, all monitors that require DSC has this issue.

Thank you for this update! I just received a 2nd monitor from DELL and I'm still have the same issue with DSC enabled. I provided a video capture to their product support team depicting the problem when I initially reported it. It's super annoying and I wish I would of known before purchasing this monitor as I would of opted with buying a 2nd AW3423DW instead.

yeah its certainly annoying, it happens to ANY monitor with DSC, definitely a big issue nvidia needs to fix.

Still experiencing the issue here, I tried disabling DSC (no results) and then changing the color depth to 10 in Nvidia panel (had to enable DSC so that the 10 bpc option was shown), but the black screen still happens from time to time. Any news about this issue?

@ycl0426 is this solution still working for you? Tried it here but it was no use, black screen still happening from time to time.
