Aurora R16, WOL (Wake On LAN) setting?

Does Alienware Aurora R16 support WOL?

When I checked the advanced-power options menu in BIOS for WOL settings,
I could see AC recovery settings, Deep sleep settings, and Auto power on related settings, but I could not find any Wake On LAN related functions.

In the network adapter settings in Device Manager,
I can use the "wake on magic packet" and "wake on pattern match" functions, but I do not know how to set the hardware for WOL in BIOS.

Can you explain in detail how to set WOL for Alienware Aurora R16?

Turn off Deep Sleep Control and enable USB PowerShare in S4/S5 state. If you are using this for turning on your PC using Wake Me Up app on IOS that should work which it did for me just now.

Turn of deep sleep and enable USB power share did the trick. Thank you Butcher79!

Hello,

I have the same model, but nothing works. Deep Sleep Control is disabled and USB Power Share is normal/enabled. Besides the network settings in Windows, have you done anything else?

The network card doesn't stay lit; the LED turns off when the computer shuts down, so it can't work.

Note: I use a server interface for Wake on LAN.

Thanks in advance

Hello, thanks for the feedback, unfortunately I have the same settings and it doesn't work. I would like to wake up the computer via the RJ45 cable; maybe you don't have the same network card.

@KevM_ Hi, I didint understand are you using Ethernet or wifi? If you are using ethernet try keeping the wifi off, what exactly are you trying to do with your pc, brw our configurations are same except maybe graphic card and cpu

Hello,

I'd like to get Wake-on-LAN to work using the network cable. But we have the same BIOS settings and the same version. Nothing seems to work; the network card remains off when the PC is turned off. Maybe I should remove the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card to see if that's causing the problem.

In any case, thank you for this information, because for you it works and for me it doesn't, that means that it is possible and that I need to look for the reason.

Ah, but here's the explanation: the card doesn't seem to stay lit like on the Precisions! Not having had much time to look into it, I only checked to see if the card's LED was lit! But I used our own tool to wake up the computer, and it worked.

Thanks for the clarification on the LED status, and sorry for wasting your time without following through.
