Aurora R12, AWCC 5.5.35 issue

Alienware Aurora R12

Alienware Aurora R12

Installed AWCC 5.5.35 as an upgrade to 5.5.26. Restarted, and upon opening AWCC after a restart, it does its occasional 'starting services' while everything is greyed out. Then, after services are loaded, the screen is completely white and blank. The application stays blank and will close on its own within a minute, though it continues to run in the background according to task manager.

Uninstalled, restarted. Reinstalled with the full installer, restarted, still have blank white screen.

Uninstalled again, restarted. Reinstalled again, restarted again, same issue.

According to task manager, AWCC is running in the background, and has been for the past 2 hours that I've been using my PC. The lights on my AW mouse, AW headset, and AW monitor are on and all 3 function correctly for past 2 hours. The lights on my Aurora R12 are not on.

Not sure if anyone else has this issue, or where to report it.

I'm fully convinced that AWCC is possessed. I've just been through a weird upgrade scenario on my R13. I had attempted an upgrade to 5.5.26 last week. That upgrade completely hosed my AWCC installation. I went around the block a few times on my own and with Dell tech support and had managed to backrev AWCC to 5.4...kind of. It sort of ran but was crippled and did not see any of my peripherals. So I was going to go through another session with tech support, but...after being away for a few days with my computer shut down, I started it up tonight, and it did an update of AWCC from the Windows Store to version...not 5.5.26, but 5.5.35. It's now working normally. Go figure. As for the progress bar changing color to yellow or orange, I had that too. I believe it is related to an unsuccessful attempt to remove or cleanup some outdated files. That also is probably related to why your installation is hosed.

You might want to wait a bit and see if your installation calms down at all and automagically fixes itself with an update from the Windows Store. Also, the v5.5.35 OC controls still do not work with W11 Core Isolation enabled. Dell support is aware of that issue and is working with Microsoft to come up with a fix, but we have no idea when such a fix might be available.

Yes it's bad on my system R10 also.

Blank white pages starts closes, white page with alien head, spinning blue balls...

Seems that oc.controlservice is not starting. Reinstalling is going around in circles.

My first  suspicion was the anti-virus (bitdefender) got tired and used a drive backup to go back previous version

Addendum:

The installer's program green "streamer progress bar" turns yellow at some point.... never seen this before on previous install.

I am likely to do the same thing. My system seems to be stable enough for now and my devices all seem to be functioning.

My headset still did its usual beep when the battery gets down to 20%. I just did not get a visual notification on my screen like I did the day before and since I got the headset, since AWCC only seems to be half-working. Workable for now at least.

I gave it several hours and was still getting the blank white screen and the application window was closing on its own. Different day now and it works, courtesy of Microsoft Store.

Turned my computer on this morning and AWCC is working correctly, and is the latest version. Seems that the Microsoft Store patched it up automatically at some point yesterday when my computer was on.

All the lighting is working again and I can see what my devices are charged to.

Thanks everyone!

Today I noticed an Alienware  update happened in the M$ store and then awcc had the green flag (update) displayed. I decided to try again updating 5.5.26 to 5.5.35 version, this time I muted (disabled) the av bitdefender in case it would interfere  with the downloading and installation ... I re installed using the file from Dell website and it did complete the installation correctly ( no yellow progress bar). awcc running ok (for now)

I still can't install AWCC. It keeps saying "Wizard was interrupted....". Have been like this for months. I had to use a extremely old AWCC version (like in 2020) in order to get it to "work" But now, even that is barely working...I can't believe how trash AWCC is. I won't ever purchase another Alienware because of this. I wish there was another program to control the fans on my laptop.

Hiya, this is intresting stuff because i do have a current paranormal thingy related to AWCC, and core isolation enabled, why should DELL and Microsoft change that because you can turn it off, or on.

But you talk about yellow or orange bar, i only see from the beginning 10 months ago green

And its still haunted here, and as you mention in your post, so how this become a community accepted solution? idk...people dont believe yet, it will come later, youtube shows us
