Aurora R10, CPU FAN running faster than expected error
This issue pops up every few weeks but seems to not be going away this time. Its an Aurora R10 Ryzen water cooled. The fan is not spinning during the error but does when the test is going. I've updated the BIOS, reset CMOS and cleaned the fan and radiator. Any ideas?

@Slingblade1170 perhaps the person that owned the R10 previously had connected the pump to the wrong motherboard header. The Asetek pump will ramp up to about 2800 rpm almost immediately, where as a fan will generally ramp up much more slowly. You can either connect the pump to the correct motherboard header or, if you don't care about being connected correctly, hold down the ESC key when you press the power button to skip the start-up diagnostic tests.

OP said: The fan is not spinning during the error....
Should the fan be spinning all the time during powered on. Sound like the faulty fan needs replacement.

If you have the AIO liquid cooling, and you have not made any modifications to your rig, then you do not have a CPU fan. The fan on your radiator is top-chassis fan and connects to the TOP_FAN motherboard header. Your AIO power should be connected to the PUMP_FAN header. There should be nothing connected to your CPU_FAN motherboard header.

Which fan is it that is spinning when the test goes live? The radiator fan?

@ProfessorW00d
Thanks for the reply, this is not my system but I'm helping a family member figure this out. From the pump there is only 1 cable and it has always since buying the PC been plugged into the CPU FAN header. It has worked that way since 2018 and now the PC belongs to my family member and he got the error from the deleted image above about the fan running faster than expected. He brought the PC to my house and I wasn't sure what was wrong so I cleaned the fans and radiator and it booted up and worked for months. It happened again, so I advised him to see if its spinning at all and no it wasn't until the system recovery scan started and both fans would spin and work as normal but the error would continue. After a couple of reboots, it worked for weeks more, then happened again. This time I told him to unplug from CPU FAN and plug into another header but he ended up plugging it back in the same header but its working again. So, I'm glad its working and I guess the next step if it happens again is try a different header or maybe there is some kind of short in the cable itself.

@ProfessorW00d Well if the error happens again I will tell him to switch headers, thanks for the the tips.
