Area-51 AAT2250, possible to change the Intel CPU to AMD 9800?
Alienware Area-51 AAT2250
Hello,
I got this super computer (RTX 5900, 285k Intel, 64GB Ram, etc.) but somehow it's not running as smoothly as I thought it should when playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. My older R13 runs the game smoother. The FPS is fairly high (in the 70s) but I get constant stutters which are related to the CPU (main thread). I am thinking of returning the computer if the issue persists but if I can change the CPU to AMD, I may consider that.

The CPU sockets are completely incompatible. You are only able to use Intel CPUs.

It's not said what CPU you have in it.
Did you get the PC used or refurb? Not sure how long you've had it.
Did it always stutter with Flight Simulator? You might try Microsoft's free cleanup tool.

@bradthetechnut According to the specs for this system, it has an Intel i7. I had to check that out myself just to be sure.
