XPS 13 (9343) + iMAC 27 (Display Tagret Modus)?
Hi,
I`m wondering if there is a possibility to connect my XPS 13 (9343) with Display Mini Port or Adapter to my iMac 27`which has a Thunderbolt connection for using as an external monitor?
The combination MacBookPro to iMac with Thunderbolt works fine but how`s about XPS to iMac?
Any tipps and if it works, which cable/adaptor and graphic driver version of XPS do I need?
btw: the XPS works fine with any adaptors or with Mini Display Port to a "normal" computer monitor.
Kind regards,
Holger

Hello,
I've found this and similar statements on on the Apple Forum:
"No, thunderbolt on an IMac in TDM simply is designed to not work to display Windows."
Please note that this is a German community forum, which is moderated by German speaking tech support. If you are located outside of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, I'd recommend you to use the English community forum instead.
Kind regards,
Florian

iMac as external monitor isn't supported, neither Macs nor PCs.
Targetmode: Only supported with Intel-Macs, no PC/Hackintosh/whatever........

That`s not 100% true; the older iMACs 27 (till late 2010) support Target Display Modus with Mini Display Port. I have a late 2009 iMAC 27 at home and it works with a standard Mini Display Port cable fine with the XPS 13.
My other iMAC 27 (late 2013) is having a thunderbolt port and now I`m wondering how I can connect my XPS with this one as well? Mini Display Port cable won`t work of course ......
