SCGとPolicy Managerのメール設定有無について

SCG(5.30)とPolicy Manager(5.30)設定時、両方にメール設定(SMTP)をする箇所がありますが、
それぞれにメール設定が必須でしょうか。
→必須、という形での強い表現はSCG,PMそれぞれのUser Guideを見てもないですが、
基本設定するものという前提での理解がいいと思います。

なおPMであればメール設定をしない場合は、Ask For Approvalなどのメール通知ができませんし、
SCGでは後述にあるような監視対象機器のステータスなどの状況の通知もできないことになります。

An email notification is sent during the following scenarios:
● Secure connect gateway is unable to connect to the policy manager server.
● Policy manager is configured to request your approval. For example, if you configure policy manager to prompt you for approval when a technical support agent has initiated a remote session on a device.

※PMにメール設定した場合はAsk for Approvalでのリモート承認依頼メールがPMから送付される認識ですが、PMにメール設定していない場合はSCGから送付される認識ですが間違っていますでしょうか。
→Ask for Approvalでのリモート承認依頼メールはPMからのみの送信になります。
