XtremIO 仮想XMSをバージョンアップする際の考慮について

既存でXtremIO Software/仮想XMSいずれも6.3.3-8で稼動している環境について、v6.4.xへのバージョンアップを計画しています。
仮想XMSはXtremio Clusterを登録済みのアクティブ機と平時はClusterを登録していないスタンバイ機があります。

スタンバイの仮想XMSをv6.4.xにバージョンアップする際、クラスタが登録されていないため
”upgrade-xms”コマンドではなく、新バージョンのUpgrade Packageによる新規ソフトウェアへの入れ替えとなる認識なのですが、ホワイトペーパー（Software Installation and Upgrade Guide）上には以下の記載がありました。

XMS構成メニューの”Install XMS only”を指定したうえで希望のUpgrade Packageを読み込むことで、既存の6.3.3-8から6.4.xにバージョンアップできる想定をしておりましたが、6.4.xには後述ページの”Upgradeing the XMS"の操作でしかバージョンアップができないという記載にも読み取れております。

この場合、どちらが正しいでしょうか？
（A）既存がXMS 6.3.3-8であれば、XMS 6.4.xへUpgrade Package指定すれば”Install XMS only"ができる
　　　※管理しているXtremIO Clusterがない場合にも、6.4.xへのソフトウェアへ新規入れ替えができる。
（B）XMS 6.4.xへバージョンアップするには、一度任意のXtremIO Clusterを管理に加えてから
　　　”Upgrade-xms"しないといけない

Guidelines for Installing the XtremIO Software Version 6.4 on the XMS
If you wish to install version 6.4 on a newly deployed XMS, it is required to first upgrade the XMS to version 6.3.3-8 and then upgrade it again to version 6.4.x, as a newly deployed XMS cannot be directly upgraded to 6.4.x.

To install version 6.4 on the XMS, proceed as follows:
1. Follow the procedure described in “Uploading and Installing the Software Package on the XMS” on page 66 to install version 6.3.3-8 on the XMS.
2. Follow the procedure described in “Upgrading the XMS” on page 142 to upgrade the XMS to version 6.4.
